Background

Raised in Orinda, California, Zack picked up climbing in 2018 while attending college in the northeast.

He quickly started working at a local gym, where he taught introductory classes. Zack also served as the climbing director for the university mountain club, hosting many clinics and outings. Zack honed his climbing skills atop the granite crags surrounding Boston and on the sandstone slabs of the Bay Area. He has climbed all across the US, including Utah's Wasatch Range, the Needles of South Dakota, and the canyons of Ten Sleep, Wyoming. Outside the US, Zack has sampled some of the best climbing Spain has to offer in La Pedriza and Cuenca. He received his Single Pitch Instructor certifícate in the Shawangunk Mountains of New York. Down on the ground, Zack enjoys writing, biking, playing guitar, and interior design.
