Cancellation & Weather Policy
We plan every trip around real mountain conditions and real-time guide availability.
Our policies are set up to be fair to you and to the guides putting in the work.
Here’s how it works:
Cancellation and Rescheduling:
30+ days out → Reschedule or receive a full refund, no questions asked.
Inside 30 days → Non-refundable and non-reschedulable. At this point we've committed the guide, the gear, and the day to you.
No-shows → Non-refundable and non-reschedulable.
Weather Cancellations
Our guides assess real-time conditions on the actual terrain you'll be climbing, not a quick apple-weather forecast. If your guide determines the day isn't safe or workable, we'll offer a reschedule with your tuition held for a future date. If a reschedule date doesn't work for your schedule, we'll refund your tuition minus a 10% administrative fee.
What if I want out before my guide has called it?
That's your call to make, but it's outside our cancellation policy. We're not able to offer a refund or reschedule in that case, since the trip is still on as planned from our end. You'll need to use your own trip insurance to be reimbursed for the day.
This distinction exists because our guides are trained to read local conditions on the specific terrain we're climbing. A rainy forecast in town doesn't always mean unsafe conditions at the crag, and vice versa.
Trip Insurance
Weather, travel, illness, and schedule changes are part of life. We strongly recommend trip insurance for this reason. Standard travel plans often exclude climbing, so make sure the plan you choose covers it.

Want the option to cancel due to a forecast? Standard plans don't usually cover that. Look for a Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) upgrade, which usually has to be purchased within a few weeks of booking and reimburses part of your cost.
Gratuity
Never required, but 20–25% is customary in the guiding industry if your guide went above and beyond. Cash or Venmo is preferred.
