PCS Guide
Meet Wade Curtis
Background
Wade grew up in central New York, where snowboarding first drew him to the mountains — by high school, he was already instructing at his local resort. He didn't discover rock climbing until he joined the military and was selected to attend the Army's mountaineering school, where his path into vertical terrain began.
Military service has since taken Wade skiing and climbing across the U.S., Chile, Austria, Scotland, and France — including a training engagement with Pisgah Climbing School, which marked his first introduction to the PCS team. He went on to serve as an instructor at the Army's mountaineering school, training special operations personnel to move through and survive in mountainous terrain, before transitioning to his current role in the military.
Wade is an AMGA Certified Multi-Pitch Instructor, currently pursuing additional AMGA certifications as he continues to advance his guiding career. When he's off the clock, he's still in the mountains — climbing, skiing, and snowboarding to sharpen his craft.
