With 25 years of expedition climbing on the world's most demanding terrain, Pete Lardy brings rare depth to military mountain training and high-alpine guiding.

Pete Lardy is an IFMGA Licensed Mountain Guide — the highest credential in the guiding profession worldwide, requiring full certification in rock, alpine, and ski guiding through the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA). Fewer than 250 Americans hold that designation. Pete has earned every discipline.

Pete is the Director and owner of Pikes Peak Alpine School in Colorado, where he has spent decades building one of the most respected guide operations in the Mountain West. His climbing resume is genuinely global: fast-and-light ascents on Mount Rainier's Liberty Ridge and Mount Huntington's Harvard Route; 30 and 40-day expeditions on Denali; high-altitude objectives on Himalayan 8,000-meter peaks. The Andes, the Alaska Range, the Alps, the Cascades, and the Rockies have all been part of his career — and after 25 years, he's still pursuing the next great line.

At Pisgah Climbing School, Pete's primary focus is military mountain training — working with special operations and military units that require technical vertical instruction at the highest professional standard. The work demands a guide who has operated in extreme environments, made high-stakes decisions in complex terrain, and can transfer that experience to teams who need it to matter. Pete is exactly that guide. He also leads expedition and alpine programs for clients pursuing serious objectives beyond the Southeast.
