Meet Dr. Andrew Beeghly
Background
Dr. Andrew Beeghly is currently an Emergency Physician for Mission Hospital and Medical Director for Mountain Area Medical Airlift (MAMA) in Asheville, NC.
He has taught ATLS and Ultrasound for Mountain Area Health Education Center since 2016 and for Vanderbilt Trauma Services from 2012-2015 prior to moving to Asheville. He recently retired as a LTC from the US Army and served in positions as Army Combat Medic and Battalion Surgeon for the regular army and as a Dive Medical Officer and Flight Surgeon for 5th Special Forces Group. After his Emergency Medicine Residency at the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Beeghly completed the Military Mountain Medicine Course, obtained a Diploma in Mountain Medicine certified by UIAA and completed a Fellowship in Wilderness Medicine through the Wilderness Medicine Society.
Locally, Dr. Beeghly volunteers with Henderson County Rescue Squad as a Public Safety Diver and on the Mountain Rescue Team.
